Hello Class!
Avery’s Flat Stanley is visiting His grandparents at their winter home
in Holiday, Florida, which is just a few miles away from Tarpon Springs.
Tarpon Springs is a beautiful community with a couple of nice parks for
walking and viewing manatees. It is also home of the famous Greek
sponge dock community.
Craig Park is a beautiful walking park with a Veteran's Memorial and
home to manatees that can swim around freely and undisturbed. The manatee's closest relative is the elephant. They are gentle creatures
that can weigh up to 1000 lbs. and can be 10 ft. in length. Click HERE to find out more about the manatee!
The sponge dock fishing village is an active community that still
collect sponges from the ocean floor. The statue is a monument to the
sponge fisherman and the boat is lined with real sponges.
Anclote River Park is another of the beautiful Parks in our area with white sandy beaches and a historic Indian mound.
