Seamus' Flat Stanley Calling from England!
Where are you Seamus? You didn't answer the phone! London is very cool. Wish you were here! Love, Flat Stanley
Seamus' Flat Stanley Tries to Talk to the Queen's Guard in England
I tried to see the Queen but no luck. I did see see her guards on
their horses. They ride with the Queen when she takes her carriage for
the State Opening of Parliament every year and they also accompany the
bride and groom at royal weddings. This guards are not allowed to smile
or talk to anyone, unless they need to protect the horse. They sit very
erect and still. Actually, this one told me not to get so close to the
horse. Oops! Love, Flat Stanley
More fun in England with Seamus' Flat Stanley
This is my family taking care of me in London. There is Uncle Dave holding me with Aunt Jill and Cousin Katie. We managed to fit Big Ben and a red telephone booth in this picture. London is famous for these red telephone booths which have been around since the 1920's. A red double decker bus is also going by! Another famous thing to see in London!
Seamus' Flat Stanley in England!
Seamus' Flat Stanley is having a great time on the continent of Europe in London, England! Big Ben is the humongous bell in this tower that
chimes when the clock strikes hourly. It is very loud! The tower is
connected to the parliament building in London. The parliament is the
place where laws are made for the United Kingdom, like the Capitol
building in Washington DC in the United States.

Eddie's Flat Stanley in Fort Kent, Maine
Eddie's Flat Stanley has had a great trip to Fort Kent, Maine! Fort Kent is located at the top of Maine, right along the Maine/Canada border. Fort Kent is a French community, and people here speak both French and English.
Maine is a very large state. Fort Kent is 5 hours from Gorham! If we traveled south from Gorham, we would be in New York, so this should give you an idea how big the state of Maine is!!
When Flat Stanley arrived, it was only -13 degrees! We also have a 20 degree difference in temperature in the winter than the lower part of the state. Brrrr!! Flat Stanley had to wear his heavy winter coat!! The picture below shows the northern part of Route 1, which travels all the way down the US to Key West, Florida!
Flat Stanley is on his way to Boston, Massachusetts!!

James' Flat Stanley in Myanmar!
Here's Asia, where Myanmar is. You can find Myanmar near the bottom of the map, underneath China:
Here's a more close-up map of Myanmar. Flat Stanley spent most of his time in two places. First he went to the city of Mawlamyine (towards the south on the map), and then he visited Bagan (more to the north).
While he was in Mawlamyine, Flat Stanley visited a pagoda (which is a kind of temple) called Uzina Paya. He thought it would be funny to take a picture where he looked like he was standing on those two pillars, so that's why he's up in the air like that:
Flat Stanley found a cat at the pagoda! If you've ever wondered if they have cats all over the world, here's proof:
Flat Stanley went to Myanmar with a friend of James' uncle Quinton named Sam. Here are a couple of pictures of Flat Stanley at the pagoda with Sam. Fun fact: right before they went to the pagoda, they ate a cricket, because people eat crickets in Myanmar. Sam said it actually tasted pretty good, but he forgot to take a picture.
Here is Flat Stanley with a friend of Sam's who lives in Myanmar, named Rhi. After that he is with one of Rhi's friends.
And here is Flat Stanley and a dragon!
