James' Flat Stanley in New York City!

James' Flat Stanley took a trip to New York City to visit James' Uncle Quinton!

New York City is the biggest city in the United States, and you can find it on the southeast corner of New York State. Here's a map of the state. Look down towards the bottom for NYC:

First, Flat Stanley wanted to go visit Times Square. This is a busy area in the middle of the city, where every New Year's Eve they have a big party to celebrate the new year. If you look up on the building behind Flat Stanley, you can see where it still says “2016,” left over from the last New Year's Eve.

Next, Flat Stanley decided to go for a ride on the subway, which is a train that travels underground and takes you around the city. Here he is waiting on the street outside.

Here is Flat Stanley with James' 2-year-old cousin Bailey riding the subway.

At one point, the subway train went over a bridge, and there was a great view. In the background you can see the Brooklyn Bridge, which is a huge bridge between 2 different parts of New York City: Manhattan and Brooklyn. It's over 100 years old.
The tallest building you can see in the picture is the World Trade Center (or as it is sometimes called, the “Freedom Tower”). If the picture looks a little smudged, that's because the subway windows were dirty.
Flat Stanley finally got off the subway in Brooklyn, and that was all the time he had for taking pictures before his big trip to Myanmar, on the other side of the world...
